Spammers!

Friday, June 20th, 2008

I guess I need to start posting some actual stuff on here. All the spam comments are starting to creep through and it makes me angry! I hate reading stupid comments from people that are trying to sell either themselves or some other crap.

Life. Life has been good as of late. I am loving every minute of my job. I have learned SO much in just two short week. I think I am going to love being a nurse! It really is a tough job, but the patients are worth it. I have yet to meet a patient that makes me crazy. I’m sure that moment is coming. I think I will have to be a nurse for a few years before I get jaded….at least I hope. Actually, I hope I am never jaded. I have seen some interesting stuff thus far and feel as though that will continue throughout my summer. One thing is for sure, I will be the master of hanging piggyback IV bags and programming pumps :D

I have a FAST (Red Cross First Aid Service Team) event this weekend and that should be fun. I haven’t seen much action where that is concerned, but am pretty sure I will be a master of the band aids by the end of summer.

Monkey is playing baseball and loving it. He is doing really well for his first season. He is also in summer school and pretty excited about his CSI class. I guess at the end of summer school they get to solve a ‘real’ case. He was all excited last week because they lifted fingerprints with cocoa powder. I love him!

I guess that is the long and short of it. Mike and I are busy doing stuff the weekends we don’t have our babies and when we have our babies, we are busy spending time with them!!

Oh and I am SO happy we finally got some warm weather up in this hizzy!!

New J.O.B.

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

So I officially started my new job today. I had training 3 days last week and the first 3 days of this week. I think I am going to LOVE my new job (I will miss my bank buddies though).

Oh, I’m a nurse extern. Sorry, forgot to mention that.

Anyhow. Not a ton to say about it other than the staff have all been wonderful and the patients are awesome. I mean, they are all really sick but mostly in good spirits. I am working on the hematology/oncology floor and I have never seen or hung so many bags of antibiotics!! It was pretty amazing to say the least. I am looking forward to learning a crap ton this summer and honing in on my skills, yo!!

Soooo that is what I am doing for the summer.

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Tomorrow I will be taking my last final exam for the semester. I wish I was as lucky as Mike but I’m not. I still have one more year left. Of course, next year won’t be all this test and quiz taking stuff. Next year I will be in a hospital 24 hours a week and in class one day of the week.

I wish I had more time to write something brilliant, but I have to get my day going here. I have some studying to do!!

80’s flashback

Saturday, May 3rd, 2008

So I went to Wal*Mart to pick up a few things and Monkey said he wanted to look at the CDs. I obliged of course because I love music too. Well, I ended up buying two CDs. I have not bought a CD in forever. The cool part, Monkey loves him some 80’s hair band music and of course….Michael Jackson.

I purchased the 25th anniversary CD of the Thriller album and it came with a DVD. We are currently watching the Thriller video short. Yup, pretty sweet!! Monkey is totally rockin’ out right now :) I also purchased Poison’s greatest hits for him. Yeah, I know. What can I say, he has taste? I think it is pretty cool that he enjoys the music that I listened to at his age.

And now this……

You know you love it!

A few things I learned this week

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

It has been a pretty interesting week to say the least. I’m not sure where to begin so I’ll just start with a few things that I am taking away from my ’special’ week.

1. It is easy to judge and point fingers when you are clueless about that which you are passing judgment upon

2. It comes easy for some to be a raging bitch for no apparent reason and on random days

3. There are several mentally ill people walking around undiagnosed (I think I may know a few)

4. Walking away is easier when you have someone to walk with

5. Sadly, there are people that will never be satisfied with anything and will find the smallest thing to bitch about and be upset about

6. I stole this from Ericka, but the best things in life are not things. I had actually figured it out a long time ago, but it was nice to hear again

7. Raising a child is the hardest job anyone will ever have. Go easy on a parent who may be having a hard time or not doing it the way you think is ‘best.’ Have faith that they are doing their best

8. Don’t be afraid to use your support system (and I don’t mean a bra)

9. Buy Brewer tickets way in advance if you wanna go to a ‘cool’ game with your peeps :(

I think those are the main points that I have taken away from this week. I’m sure I could think of a 100 more, but you would get bored and I wouldn’t get done any of the 700 tasks I have to get done today.

Peace, yo.

I’m alive

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

Yup, I sure am. I know that I have been MIA and all, but my life has been super busy these past few weeks. Things should start to slow down a little now.

I am going to be a certified FAST member with the Red Cross! I know, pretty sweet. What else? Lots of tests, quizzes, papers, etc going on for me the past few weeks. Lucky for me, I have done well on everything.

This weekend is going to kick some ASS!! I have to kick it into high gear tonight and work pretty hard tomorrow, but Saturday night, I’m going to Chicago! I’m super cited. Mike decided that we should take a breather from school, work. etc and planned a weekend getaway for us. I know, he’s a pretty great man and I loves him.

I’m sure I will have some sweet pics and maybe even a good story or two from my weekend.
