Quick and simple

I just finished a book called The Tender Bar and I just thought I would tell you all that it was a good book. Good story about a man and well… a bar. It truly was a good story and makes me thankful for what I have. More than that, I am thrilled that I now have time to lose myself in a good book!

Did you know that you can get some steals at Barnes and Noble.com? I ordered 7 books last night and only spent like $34. Oh and one of the books was almost $13 because it was not on sale. I am just so excited that I have 6 new books coming in the mail (the 7th is a gift).

I will never order from this place again!

Okay, so I needed some new clothes for my job, right? Well, I placed the order, online, Wednesday night. I went ahead and paid extra for 2 day air figuring I would get my package by Monday at the latest. I called today because I have yet to receive any sort of notice that my order was shipped. The man on the phone told me it was 2-3 day service. I said, “That is not what your site says.” Anyway, he proceeds to tell me I placed the order on the 5th and it takes 24 hrs. to process the order. I get that, but then you should not promise 2 day air if it will take at least 3 days to actually get your product. Am I wrong here? Not to mention I paid an extra six dollars and guess when I should get my package? Yeah, by fucking Wednesday!! I am PISSED! I emailed and tried to cancel my order but that is most likely not going to happen. I want to ship ALL my shit back but then I will lose all the shipping I paid plus the cost to ship the items back. What a piece of shit Allheart.com is. Yeah, that’s right, I am blasting them on my site.

Like I said, I will never order from them again. I have never had a problem with them before but this pisses me right off!! I even said to the guy, “How can you say it takes 2 days and it is actually going to take a week.” He said, “It’s 2-3 days and we have to process the order, blah blah.” I said, “Well you shouldn’t advertise 2 day air and it take a week to get to the customer.” He says, “That isn’t a week, you should have it by Wednesday.” I said, “Yeah, and the order was placed on Thursday, that is basically a week.” I told him that it was ridiculous that I paid extra for 2 day and it will take a week for me to receive my order. He wasn’t getting it and he said that Thursday was the latest I should get it. UGH!! What a fucking rocket scientist. Wow, that is seven days and last I checked, a week is seven days.

I Heart Pilot

Pens! I just found the most perfect pens EVER!! I am somewhat of a pen whore. What can I say, I like having several different pens in my collection.

I purchased the most perfect writing instrument last night, the Pilot Precise P-700 Gel Roller pen. Writing with these pens is pure heaven, ya’ll! I used to hate gel ink because it gets all leaky n’ stuff, but not my Pilot pens. Another company, who’s name I won’t mention, makes pretty pens but the ink leaks all over your paper. I am way too OCD to have pen leaks all over the place.

I will be hiding these pens from my boyfriend because he will steal them, I just know it! We both have some sort of pen freakishness going on. He likes the company that makes leaky pens and I know once he tries my Pilot beauties he will want them.

Sorry. That was probably the most boring drivel you have ever heard in your life!

PS A good ol’ Bic mechanical pencil also melts my heart!! I loves me some Bic pencils. You have got to have fine point in whatever you are writing with! Medium is for sloppy folks ;)

I HATE Microsoft!

With a passion. I will never in my life buy another computer with a Microsoft operating system. They are total turds, run like turds, and nothing agrees with them. I know mine is older but it is the biggest POS computer ever. Takes 20+ minutes to download any sort of update or anything for that matter on the stupid thing. I should just take the stuff I wanna keep off the thing and run the recovery software :) That might be a good idea. At least I have my trusty Mac for important things.

I am a Mac fan and going forward will only buy Mac computers!!! UGH!

I Got My Baby Back! Honda Is Da Sheeet!

Friday, February 1st, 2008

It sure is amazing how much you miss your car when you don’t have it. I had to give my car up another time last May when I hit a deer. She was in pretty bad shape and was gone for about 3-4 wks. It was tough. Anyway.

My transmission went out on my car Monday night. On Tuesday, I got the news that I need a new transmission and that it would be about $2200 for a used (not rebuild, used) transmission and $3200 for a new one. Only a tard would buy a used one. Rebuilt is fine, but used? No, not so much. They did offer a 60 day warranty on the used one. WTF? You do the math on how stupid that would have been. In my distraught state, I remembered Sadie telling me about all the articles she saw online about bad Honda transmissions, so the Google search commenced. I too found a million articles. I left a complaint at Car Complaint.com or something like that and actually contacted someone who had had a similar problem in November. I then found a site that said Honda had extended warranties on some cars that fell within the year my car was manufactured, so I got on the horn with the nearest dealer.

I wasn’t expecting much, but figured if I could save some money, hell yeah. I called Wilde Honda down in Waukesha and spoke with the most wonderful service manager ever, Jim. He told me that he was about 99% sure he could get Honda to replace my transmission at no cost. The only thing was, I had to get my car down to him and it was in West Bend. I will make this shortish. I called the place that towed my car and said no thank you to their $3000+ transmission and told them Honda would take care of me. Much to their dismay. I ended up calling Jim back the following day to get some more reassurance that Honda would take care of me. He was SO freakin’ kind to me. He said that he wasn’t trying to take my money, he would get paid by Honda and he would rather they pay for the repair than me, and that he just wanted to take care of me and do whatever he could. I was shocked Seriously, when does this ever happen? A few hours later my car was at his place and he called and told me that Honda would cover the repair.

I am happy to say that I now have a working transmission with a 36,000 mile warranty and some of the best service I have ever received in my life! When Mike, his daughter, and I walked in to get my keys, we all got bags of cookies and a bottle of water. How awesome is that? Either way, Honda has a customer for life. They stood behind their product and took care of me, their customer. What more could I ask for?

Thank you Jim for being a wonderful person and taking care of your customer. Thank you Honda for standing behind your cars!!

palm Tungsten E2

Is what the school gave me and it’s pretty sweet! I don’t know its full capabilities yet, however, I am learning the Tungsten’s sweetness little by little.

I have Davis’s Drug Guide (plus a bunch more nursing stuff) downloaded on this puppy and she rocks the heezy for sheezy! Type in the genero name of a drug and BAM you get the trade name, drug class, category, what it is used for, what route you should use when administering, etc. Oh yeah, how sweet is that? I know, you’re jealous.
Yes, I am a huge nerd and have been looking up drugs for fun. Yes. For fun!  Maybe I should see what the other 3 programs do?

Seriously, Who Designs This Stuff?

In preparation for my trip, I did a little shopping. Monkey had some money burning a hole in his pocket and wanted to go to Target to spend it. Instead of making another trip to Old Navy or something, I decided to get some long sleeved shirts at Target. Now, I don’t normally shop there for clothing because I hate trying stuff on and I know what size I wear at Old Navy.

I find the plain LS tees and grabbed mediums to be safe (I would normally get small at Old Navy). I figured if they shrink, I will be good. Well, I tried them on last night and I was shocked!! I know I have some huge guns (HAHA, yeah right!) but these shirts were almost too tight on my arms!! I just couldn’t believe it. My arms aren’t much larger than my 10yr olds for crying out loud!! I couldn’t help but think, “Does the average woman really have smaller arms that me?” And I have some puny ass arms for real. I just don’t understand who they think really has that small of arms. I think a medium is like an 8-10 or something and there is just no freakin’ way this shirt would fit ANY average sized woman loose like. They weren’t fitted t’s or anything, just regular old t-shirts. I dunno, just thought it was kind of odd. I guess I learned my lesson, buy stuff at the place you know it fits you? Oh well. The shirts will be fine, I just won’t dry them in the dryer?

At Least I Won’t Get Fleas?

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

I just used this Botanical hair moisturizing stuff and it freakin’ smells like flea shampoo! I was cleaning out my bathroom drawers, found it, and thought, “I’ll try this today!” I guess I should have smelled it before I lathered it all through my hair. Whoops!! I put it in my hair and quickly looked at the little sample bottle to see where it came from.

See, last summer there was a lady at the Pig and she was handing out all these ‘natural’ product samples. I thought it must be from her because the hand lotion she gave me was awful smelling. Nope, it was good ol Bath and Body. I normally love their products and I’m sure this will make my hair look fab, but whoever said it smells like wheat germ and almond is on crack!! I guess I don’t really know what wheat germ smells like, but I venture to say it does not smell like flea shampoo.

Lesson learned. Smell something before you put it in you hair!! Oh well. I hope the fleas stay away at least? HAHA. Oh and I’m REALLY hoping it isn’t one of those Bath and Body products where the smell NEVER leaves you :(

Organic Snacks for You and Your Family

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

While grocery shopping on Monday, I discovered some 70% organic snacks in the granola bar section of the store. I was a little hesitant because they contain no high fructose corn syrup, no hydrogenated oils, and no artificial preservatives or flavors. Sounds tasty, right?

I went ahead and purchases some Back to Nature Chewy Trail Mix bars and some banana walnut Bakery Squares. I tell ya what, they are both quite tasty! I highly recommend these delicious, healthy snacks for you and yours. Another great thing, both products contain poly and mono-unsaturated fat, which is the good fat we are supposed to be eating. Each product had a nominal amount of saturated fat, but they don’t contain mutant, hydrogenated fat!

Enjoy!! Pick some up at your local grocer. Oh and from what I can see on the site, they have all kinds of products that you can buy. I have not seen any others, but they make cookies!!

I Found Something Special

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

I had to clean the bathtub in the apartment downstairs and lemme tell you what, people have different ideas of what clean really is. Anyway. I sprayed it early in the day to ‘break up’ the soap scum so I could come back later and clean it….hopefully a little easier.

While on my regular trip to Wal-Mart for groceries, I discovered this thing called, Pure Clean bathroom block. It seemed like a good idea because it looked really abrasive and had a sponge on the top of the coarse block for lighter cleaning. I really had no idea what exactly the product was about, but thought I would give it a whirl. It looked like it could really break up the soap scum!

Lemme just tell you, this product is freakin’ AWESOME!! You don’t have to use cleaner because the block itself is an all natural cleaner. It smells okay and it wasn’t hard on the tub surface like I thought it might be. I also used it to clean the oven. Granted, I used cleaner in both situations, but it saved me a shit ton of elbow grease.  The only thing I did not like about this product, the sound that it makes when scrubbing.  A little like nails on the chalkboard because of the grit in the block, but it was worth the icky sound because it cleaned UP.

I would highly recommend this product for a tough cleaning job. It cost about $2.50 and it was worth every single penny!
