This might sound a little harsh, but you need to listen

“Anyone who thinks they’re important is usually just a pompous moron who can’t deal with his or her own insignificance and the fact that what they do is meaningless and inconsequential.”

“If we could read the secret history of our enemies, we would find in each person’s life, sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.”

Now that is messy!

The past is never there when you try to go back.  It exists, but only in memory.  To pretend otherwise is to invite a mess.

“Not everything that counts can be counted and not everything that can be counted counts.”

~Albert Einstein

As nursing students, we are tested to death! While I think they measure, to some extent, what we are learning, we don’t need to take 100 of them per semester. Where it really counts is delivering patient care. Granted, we have to understand the pathophysiology to understand the treatment, create a care plan, etc. It just seems like there is so much pressure placed upon us to be outstanding in the classroom when we all know that you don’t have to be a 4.0 student to be an outstanding nurse! Some of the smartest people in the program have either no personality or a shitty one.

See, pessimism isn’t always a bad thing

“Optimism is denial, so face the facts and move on.”

~Unknown

See, and people laugh at me when I say, “Hey, I’m just being realistic.” Pessimism can be equated to realism in some instances and I am obviously not the only person who thinks so. Life is not always rainbows and butterflies and more often than not, the truth hurts.

T.G.I.F.!

Today is Friday and I could not be happier. I have a very exciting weekend planned with Monkey.

Tomorrow we are going to the EAA museum up in Osh Kosh. We have never been and Monkey loves planes. It was his idea to go of course. He asked me right away on Monday if we could go this weekend so of course we are going. He doesn’t ask all that often to do something that specific.

Sunday will be filled with fun things such as, grocery shopping, laundry, and of course homework. Oh and a meeting for football next year.

Have a great weekend! I am off to FCP II lab where I get to learn/practice wound care. Luckily it will be on a fake man or woman. I don’t think I could handle seeing and smelling a real wound at 9am. Actually, I would be sicked out at any hour of the day.

Stupid is as stupid does…

Stupidity is evil waiting to happen.”

Or the evil can flow freely from the cerebrally challenged. You just never know what you’re gonna get!
