My Child is Naughty!

Friday, December 28th, 2007

I just let my son go to his friends house and he walks because it is literally up the hill from our house. I make him wear his snow boots, gloves, and he put his hood on.  As I watch him walk away, I see him pull his hood down and shove his gloves in his pockets!! What a little punk!! UGH! I guess he’s growing up and it’s not ‘cool’ to be warm? Kids!! I loves him anyway, but he won’t be much fun if he gets all sick n’ stuff  :) Being cool is way more important though when you’re 10.

It Is Starting to Look and Feel Like Christmas!!!

Saturday, December 1st, 2007

I put my tree up today and got all my Christmas stuff put up. While decorating the tree, I told Monkey I can tell he’s getting taller. He asked why. I said, “You used to decorate up to here (about 3ft above the ground) and now you can decorate the top too!” It was pretty cute. I let him put the star on this year and he did it marvelously. After we got done, he volunteered to shovel the sidewalk! Yup, he is the BESTEST kid ever!

The Countdown Has Begun

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

As of tomorrow, I only have 3, yes 3 more weeks of hell left. Did I say hell? I meant school. My bad. I am more than ready for a break at this point. I have another patho exam Thursday and it never fails, I have an awful headache! This will be our 4th exam and for every single one I have had a major brain ache while trying to study. Oh well, I have managed to pull an A on every exam. I think I was just bragging right there.

I am ready for Christmas!  I LOVE nothing more than to watch Monkey open his gifts and smile n’ all that jazz. I may also take a trip home to see the family. I miss them and haven’t seen them since the beginning of September. Then…and then… I am going to LONDON, ya’ll!! That is going to be the shiznit!!

Sorry, I will not bore you any longer with my mindless drivel.

I Got Mail

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

Today that put a huge smile on my face. Monkey is student of the month! This is what his teacher had to say about why she chose him:

I chose Monkey for student of the month because he is responsible, mature, respectful, understanding, puts forth outstanding effort, and has a wonderful sense of humor. I’m proud of your Monkey!

Seriously, is that not the best thing  a mother could ever hear? I think I must have done something right :) See, told you I have the bestest kid EVER!!

Veteran’s Day Poem

Monday, October 29th, 2007

With flak bursting in the air.
Machine gun fire everywhere.
Our brothers in arms fought.
While the enemy sought.
For liberty loving people everywhere.
Bombs bursting in the air.

My monkey wrote this for school! I am impressed, yo!

Bribery

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

This is how badly my son hates wiggling his loose teeth out. He has four, now three, loose teeth and I told him on Friday that I would give him $5 for each tooth he got out. I said, “You could potentially make $20 this weekend!”  Nope, not taking the bribe!!

See, he needs braces and so we are trying to get as many baby teeth out as we can.  Anyway. Last night he was eating a Milky Way and he says, “Mom, look at my tooth.”  I about died! His little tooth was completely sideways. I was looking at the bottom of his tooth from the side of his mouth.  Yeah, it was quite interesting. Kind of cool, but gross all at the same time.  He got all upset and then finally wiggled it out.  The ONLY reason that tooth came out was the combination of caramel and the adult tooth pushing its way down. Ugh!!

I did catch him wiggling another one later :) Hopefully we can get them all out before Christmas.

Fun Times

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

Yesterday my son and I were invited to a Halloween get together. It was hosted by someone I do not really know (met her on Friday), but we had a really nice time. The host and her family were kind and generous with their beautiful home. We had some good food, a hay ride, and sat by the bonfire. My son carved a pumpkin, but was really disappointed when it did not turn out the way he anticipated. Anyway. It was a nice time.

On our way home, my son decided to entertain Sadie with his beat box skillz, yo. OMFS! It was hilarious! I thought Sadie was going to wet herself. I am quite used to all his silly sounds and his sillies in general, but it was freakin’ hilarious!! I loves him :)

Today it is back to the reality of, I have a shit ton to get done for school and around my house. Enjoy your Sunday! Hope you are able to relax :)

Taking the Kids

Monday, October 15th, 2007

Where? Where am I taking the kids?  Actually, I’m not taking them anywhere. My son gets home from school and says, “What’s that kids, you wanna go to the pool?”  Of course he then proceeds to the bathroom to take a turd. NICE!!

Gotta love kids, right?

Mac N’ Salt

Sunday, October 7th, 2007

My son decided to make his own mac n’ cheese for lunch today. Great, right? I was all proud of him and he did a really good job. I had some, however, and HOLY CRAPPERS! I said, “Monkey, how much salt did you put in here?” He said just a little, but it was freakin’ salty! Not sure why he put that much salt or really any at all in the mac, but I don’t think I’ll be having any left over mac n’ salt. Gotta love the little chefs. He is always trying to ‘improve’ things with spices and seasonings. I love it!! Someday he will make some woman very happy with his mad cooking skillz!

Pumpkin Hunters and the update

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

Today I am taking my Monkey to Waldvogel’s Farm and we are going to get our Halloween pumpkins. Obviously we won’t be carving them this weekend or they will be rotten by next weekend. We always have a blast and I highly recommend going. Of course, it is geared a little more toward the younger kids, but we still have fun. I think we are going to try the corn maze this year….wish us luck!! It is going to be an awesome day to spend outside, so I’m excited.

After pumpkin hunting, my Monkey will be sleeping over at his friend’s house. A few years ago he tried staying at a friend’s house and it didn’t work out. I hope this year he has better luck. I think he will. I will be attending a tattoo party and then who knows? I should do school work, but I highly doubt that is going to happen!!

Have a great weekend!!

While at the pumpkin farm, I realized that some people need to prioritize their lives. I saw a man on his cell phone for the LONGEST time and thought, “Why are you here with your kids if you can’t put the phone down for 5min and spend the QT with them.” UGH! I also saw a little priss wearing her ‘break your neck’ shoes and she wasn’t really participating with her child, mainly just carrying the camera and watching. Gosh, I didn’t even see her take a photo. Anyway. Get your priorities straight people! You came to spend QT with the kid(s) so maybe that’s what it should be about? I dunno, I’m just sayin’.
