Some People!

Monday, February 25th, 2008

I know this person and it does not matter what the situation is, it is never their fault. Said person has the most negative attitude of anyone I have ever met. Now, I know that we all have our days and life gets stressful, but you have got to roll with the punches! I cannot imagine never owning up to anything I have done wrong, constantly blaming every one else, and just being a total downer ALL the freakin’ time. It seems like this person was a little coddled throughout life and now is ill- equipped to deal with and sort of adversity. I dunno. Kind of sad. I guess some folks just do not know how to deal with stress or bad days.

Honestly, just move on with it. Tomorrow is a new day, right?

That is all that I have to say.

Awake During Surgery

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

I am sure a lot of you know this happens but I just learned WHY it happens. You have probably heard that people can be having surgery and be awake, not on purpose either. In fact, they just made a movie about it.  It does not happen often, but it does in fact happen. The reason is, they combine local anesthetic with neuromuscular blocking agents. The neuromuscular blocking agents are what paralyze the muscles (I won’t bore you with  receptor details) in the body and make it easier for surgeons to do their work, however, you can still feel pain, hear, etc. The only thing they do is prevent muscles from being able to contract. So if given inadequate anesthetic, you’re pretty much screwed because you will be physically unable to tell them that you are awake!!

Yes, everyone will get sick and tired of hearing about the stuff I am learning. I just like to share :D

Another Reason To Be Thankful

Thursday, January 10th, 2008

I watched Dr. G, Medical Examiner last night and this one person died from silicone injections.

Said person was born a male, but had a sex change or was transgender and lived life as a female stripper. In her desperation to be beautiful, she was participating in what the transgender community calls ‘pumping parties.’ I about died when I learned what these were. Basically, someone (not a qualified medical person) goes to a hardware store, buys silicone, and injects it into these people’s skin!! Literally takes the crap and sticks it into the breast tissue and presses the plunger down. OMFG!!! That is crazy. All these women are letting silicone free in their bodies so they can be beautiful or look like women I guess and for a cheap price. SCARY!! Especially because the price this woman paid was her life. What killed her was the silicone got into her blood stream and basically took the place of blood and didn’t allow oxygen or nutrients into her organs.

Seeing that episode made me thankful for what I have. I cannot imagine being that unhappy with your appearance that you would risk your life. Damn!!

My Mantra for 2008

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

“Humor is perhaps a sense of intellectual perspective: an awareness that some things are really important, others not; and that the two kinds are most oddly jumbled in everyday affairs.”

~Christopher Morley

I think that pretty much sums it up!

So You Got Jokes?

You think this is funny?

This is a joke to you, right?

Sorry, I am not laughing.

Seriously?

As I sit watching Dallas Swat on A&E, a commercial comes on for Mirapex. I am listening and hear that the medication is for restless leg syndrome (maybe others, but that is what the commercial was for) and when they listed the side effects, I about shit!! I heard, “May cause compulsive behavior such as gambling.” WHAT? Gosh, my legs will feel better, but now I have a whole different set of issues. I have never heard of such a thing? Interesting. I think I will just live with my RLS!!

Note: They do not list gambling as one of the compulsive behaviors on their website, but the commercial said it and if you Google Mirapex, they are being sued for that shit!! HA!!

This Evening

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

I was having a conversation with my good friend Sadie. We talk about it all and most times it goes places that would make even the biggest pervert blush. Anyway. This evening led to some serious conversation. Relationships.

We had some laughs, but also some eye opening moments/thoughts. We were talking about people we know, who have admitted (and some who have not) that they are only in their relationship because they do not want to be alone. Now, I know being alone is not ‘fun’ per say, but why on EARTH would you waste your  time on someone you KNOW is not in your future.  GOSH!! I just want to strangle people who settle for something because they do not want to be alone.  We all fear being alone and I get that. However, if there is one thing I have learned in the past 2.5yrs, it is that being alone is 100x better than being miserable with someone. Having someone JUST to have someone is not the way to live your life.

Mmm k. Yeah. Done with that.

We also talked about men with LMS, a lady with her guts hanging out, and how you learn so much about people once they leave your life. Kind of makes me chuckle just thinking about it!! Yeah, we had a good time. Per usual.

Next time we should bring Jon with us!! OM, I just had a thought. We should take him to the naked show!! Do you think he would have to pay to get in?

Are You REALLY Any Better?

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

If someone tells you what a negative, jealous, and (insert adjective here) person you are because you slam other people; are they really any better than you? Correct me if I am wrong, but did you not just slam ME by saying all those things about me? Hmm?

I will go ponder that while I judge others whom I have no idea about. I really have nothing better to do than wallow in my misery and jealousy.  Being negative really is hard to do. Especially when it is entertaining :D
