Expired?
June 26th, 2008 by TracyI am pretty sure there is a better word to use when people pass on. I’ve heard it before and then about 100x today and it grinds my nerves.
Saying a person has expired is correct usage of the word, but I think it sounds freakin’ awful. To me, it sounds like the person is yogurt or some sort of food product. I would just prefer to hear the words, passed on, deceased, gone, or even dead.
I know, what a random rant but whatever.

I think when someone passes on, we should refer to them as “the departed,” but we have to say it in a Boston accent to make it sound right. The depaaaaahted.
