Bad service
April 2nd, 2008 by TracyI too Monkey to Pizza Hut this evening to use his pizza certificate before it expired. When we got there, they had their buffet going. Odd, but I thought what the heck, right? We both got the buffet and forfeited the pizza certificate.
We finish eating and I look at the bill. Now, there was a sign on the buffet that said kids 4-10 eat for $2.49 or something like that. Well, I got charged full price for Monkey. I asked if the dinner buffet was different to which the waitress responds, “No. Kids 4-10 eat for $2.49.” I said, “He is 10.” She replied with a, “I knew he was close.” Uhm, if you didn’t know, why wouldn’t you just ask me? Novel idea, I know. She adjusted the bill, not a problem.
Then, and this is where I get mad. My bill was $13.15 and I gave her a $20. Mind you, I work at a bank and I’m pretty good at making change. I always figure out how much change I should get back. Always! The girl brings me back $1.85. Hmm? It was a buffet, don’t flatter yourself. I sat and waited for her to walk back by so I could tell her she gave me the wrong change. I had to wait a good 5 minutes and then she walks over and says, “Oh, did I forget to give you your $5?” Yeah. I’m sure you “forgot” to give me that $5. I was pissed. She was all nonchalant about it. Interesting that she knew exactly why I was still waiting. I guess it was a mistake after all? Not likely. Poor girl, she got a shitty tip as a result. Hopefully she’ll learn to be more honest or maybe just a little smarter next time.
