And that was Monday. Glad it is over and I’m home!!

Today is going to be awesome![Updated]

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Mike and I are going on a brewery tour and winery tour with Sadie and her man. I am super excited! I have never been. Really, Mike is the only one who has been on a brewery tour.

Have a super Sunday!! I hope we don’t all get drunk ;)

[Update] We had a blast!! Got some good photos that will be posted on here, Mike’s site, or maybe even Sadie’s site.

The brewery was a ton of fun! I tried beer and still don’t like it. Glad they also make gourmet sodas :) At the winery we had one asshat who asked a million questions! Who does that? Just listen and you can ask questions, but this man asked 12 at every stop! It got old. Sadie’s man decided to call him admiral based on the sweet hat he was wearing. It was pretty funny. We tasted some awesome wine, ate some awesome cheese and crackers, and then purchased some of all of the above.

Overall, a super fun day!

PS Do you guys remember that car with the sheet on top?

Sweet little old ladies

Friday, March 28th, 2008

Toward the end of Sunday service, the Minister asked, ‘How many of you have forgiven your enemies?’

80% held up their hands.

The Minister then repeated his question.

All responded this time, except one small elderly lady.

‘Mrs. Neely?’; ‘Are you not willing to forgive your enemies?’

I don’t have any.’ She replied, smiling sweetly.

‘Mrs. Neely, that is very unusual. How old are you?’

‘Ninety-eight.’ she replied.

‘Oh, Mrs. Neely, would you please come down in front & tell us all how a person can live ninety-eight years & not have an enemy in the world?’

The little sweetheart of a lady tottered down the aisle, faced the congregation, and said,

‘I outlived the bitches.’

This might sound a little harsh, but you need to listen

I’m not the doctor

Friday, March 28th, 2008

But, putting a patient with chronic, stage 4 kidney failure on 600 meds is probably not a good plan.

I am exaggerating a little, but my patient is on at least 20 medications right now. This person has CHF and chronic renal failure. Yeah, how are most drugs excreted? You guessed it, through the kidney. It just drives me bonkers that they put people on so much medication. Doctors don’t seem to want to take the time to check all the meds and they just keep giving more and more.

On a happy note, it is Friday and Penelope and I are going out tonight!! In all actuality, I am looking forward to starting my new clinical next Monday. I just like to complain about all the stupid shit that people do.

Melting, melting, melting

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

Keep this snow a melting!! I know, I’m a dork. I am just loving the sound of water rushing down the drain things outside!! I was so upset when we got all that snow on Friday. I was so sure it was over. At least it is making a quick exit :)

Yup, I am skipping school today. Of course, I have permission to for both classes. One professor posted lectures for the week online and my other professor gives us one free day. I decided to take it today instead of driving to MKE for one class. I’m already doing that on Thursday. It is cool though, going early will give me time to practice my IV skillz, yo!!

Don’t ask how I found this, BUT it cracks me up. I am an avid nana eater, so I am totally getting one.

Shall we vote on color?

Choosing forgiveness

“If we could read the secret history of our enemies, we would find in each person’s life, sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.”
