Happy New Year!

Monday, December 31st, 2007

I hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year!!

I am going to take my Monkey sledding and who knows what else we might end up doing.  We have a good stock of kiddie (not ‘meow’ kitty) cocktails and some sparkling grape juice. What a great way to bring in 2008, with my favorite little man ( who is almost as big as me)!!

I am so excited for 2008! I have a lot of cool stuff happening this year….

Sledding

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

I took my son and his friend sledding today. It was a good time. I did get to make one trip down the hill. I think I might drag Mike out with us tomorrow :)

On a side note. I just want to know what is up with some parents. After we had been there for about an hour, a crap ton of people showed up and then there will like a zillion and one kids flying every which way down the hill. Anyway. My son and his friend were standing at the bottom of the hill chatting when a girl on a saucer smacked into them. Her parents right away were ragging on my son and his friend for standing there. I SO badly wanted to say, “Well, DAD, if you hadn’t whipped your child down the hill as she was begging you NOT to, maybe she wouldn’t have hit the two kids at the bottom like that.” It just pisses me off when parents get all stupid like that. Oh and the mom had the nerve to meet my two boys at the top and say, “It probably isn’t very smart to stand at the bottom of the hill with your backs turned.” Yeah, right after that I told them we were leaving because people were being pushy and rude. Seriously, WTF? They are KIDS for shit sake and your husband, being the asshat he is, threw you child down the hill while she was screaming, “DAD, WHY DID YOU DO THAT?”

Let the kids have some fun and mind your own p’s and q’s!! UGH! I did tell Monkey and his friend they shouldn’t stand in the middle of the hill, but it was after the beotch already called them stupid. Gotta love all that positive parenting!

I Think It Needs To Stop

Sunday, December 30th, 2007

Monkey plays Guitar Hero III every single day!! It is a fun game and I like watching, but I think it needs to stop now.

Last night I had a dream that I was playing a real guitar!! EEK! I had a singer from a band tell me that I should be the lead singer or some smack like that. Riiight! He obviously didn’t hear me sing :) Pretty crazy how real life creeps into dreams like that.

I Finally Finished

My book, Papillon, and it is a really good book! It is based on a true story of a man falsely accused and sent to the bange in France. He makes several escape attempts and lives through some extremely brutal events. Just a good, long book that keeps you guessing. This book also makes one thankful for the everyday items that we have….like a toilet.

I started reading it this summer and haven’t touched it since late August :) Good ol textbook reading has kept me busy for the past few months. It has been AWESOME reading a book because I want to!!

Every. Single. Time.

UGH!! Every single freakin’ time I go to the USPS here in town, I have to deal with the crotchety old beotches!! Honestly, I just want to ship my package and not deal with their attitudes.

Today my package cost $3.49 to ship and I decided to use my Visa gift card that I got for Christmas. Monkey and I had this one to split and there wasn’t much left so I just decided to use it up. Well, the lady stared at if for 5min after I told her it was a gift card. She said, “Do you have a pin number, it says it’s a debit card.” I said, “No you can just run it as credit.” She then proceeds to tell me it is not valid if it is not signed and makes me sign the damn thing AFTER she asks for two forms of ID! WTF? Do most people have two forms of ID with them at all times? I said, “Here. My drivers license, my AAA card, and all my other cards with my name. What do you want?” I was SO irritated and this is the same woman who made me sign my regular debit card before she would swipe the damn thing! She didn’t care if I had ID, she wasn’t swiping it without a signature!

Honestly, the purchase was $3.49 and it was postage!! Does she think I’m going to rob someone’s card and mail shit all over the world? You know, really wreak havoc on some poor sap. Wow, think of the damage I could do! Funny thing about this, stores rarely ask for your ID, they just swipe your card even if the purchase is $100 or more. I think the lady at the USPS is just a stupid beotch and likes having some authority over the little people who are not smart enough to work for the government!! HAHA, now that shit right there was funny.

I think I’m done bitching for now :)

My Child is Naughty!

Friday, December 28th, 2007

I just let my son go to his friends house and he walks because it is literally up the hill from our house. I make him wear his snow boots, gloves, and he put his hood on.  As I watch him walk away, I see him pull his hood down and shove his gloves in his pockets!! What a little punk!! UGH! I guess he’s growing up and it’s not ‘cool’ to be warm? Kids!! I loves him anyway, but he won’t be much fun if he gets all sick n’ stuff  :) Being cool is way more important though when you’re 10.

I Am Waiting….[Updated]

Friday, December 28th, 2007

For the snow to start falling! I sure hope we get lots because I wanna take Monkey sledding. Poor kid goes back to school on Wednesday and we haven’t got to go play in the snow because what we have is a crusty mess :(

Remember the days of building snow forts, sledding with friends, throwing snow balls, making snow angels, etc. I do and that is one of the best parts about having a child, I get to do all that stuff still!! Okay, so my friends would probably still play with me, but people stare less if you have a 10 y/o along :)

Enjoy your Friday, I am going to wait not so patiently for some white stuff to fall from the sky and make things around here pretty again!

Update: it started snowing right after I posted this and hasn’t stopped yet! I think we have a good 4in or so right now and it is still snowing :)

That Was Easy!

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

I put some of my used textbooks online about 1.5 hours ago and I already sold two of them! The process was easy and now all I have to do is ship the stuff!! How sweet is that?!? I guess it doesn’t hurt that a lot of my nursing books are hot commodities :)

Thank you Amazon.com!!

Update: I have sold another one in the past 1/2 hour! This is awesome!

Grades Are In

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

My grades are all finally in. For my first semester of hell, I am happy with my grades. I had five classes and I got 3 A’s, 1 A-, and 1 B+. Not super happy with the B+ but what makes me more angry is the fact that I missed the A- by a 1/2 of a percentage point :( Oh well. I hope next semester will be just as good.

Next semester I have 5 more classes and they are as follows: Foundations for Clinical Practice II, Women and Children, Clinical Pharmacology, Concepts of Illness II (patho part II), and Adult Health Concepts (med surg type class).  I know, you are all so jealous of me right now. At least I’ll be able to start understanding  medications next semester!! Yeee haw. Oh and guess what? I get a PDA with all the med info on it which is included  in my $10 billion a semester tuition :) Lucky me!! Really we just get those so we have a better chance of not killing a patient. Kidding, people, I am just kidding!!
