How Not Professional

Friday, November 30th, 2007

As all of you know, I’m a nursing student. A big part of the program is professionalism. Awesome! I think you have to be a professional to be in a profession…duh. Well then can someone please, please tell me how professional it is for an instructor to hand a student her professionally written paper back with coffee spilled on it? Hmm? Call me crazy, but that shit is not professional!

Here is the story. I had to write a nursing process paper, all professional etc. Great. Did I mention this paper has to go into my professional portfolio for school? (Don’t get me started on how retarded that is) So I ask myself, “How in the hell can I put a paper with coffee spilled on it into my portfolio?” Lemme answer that, I CAN’T!! I had to ask the teacher to grade a ‘fresh’ paper. I mean, that shit has MY name on it and I’m not going to look like a douche handing in a shit upon paper. UGH!!

Another little morsel of her professionalism. When she looked at my paper, she says, “Oh I must have had it at the nurses’ station and someone spilled on it.” Seriously? She loses professionalism points for not taking responsibility for her actions. If she was not the one who spilled, she was still the person responsible for my paper.

I know it seems really silly to bitch about something like this, but we work SO freakin’ hard and then to have someone shit on it? Yeah, that pretty much sucks and now I have to do extra work, in all my spare time, because she was irresponsible. It really is the whole principle of the matter. Ya know?

I Know I Said I Wouldn’t….BUT

I know I said I would never write about feminine hygiene products again, but I just saw a commercial and yeah. I wasn’t sure what to think about this, but I think it is a good thing. Just another thing we, as American folk, take for granted. See, we have ready access to things like Tampax, but not everyone is that fortunate. I guess I cannot imagine living life without these ‘little luxuries’ that we all take for granted.

Okay. I’m off my soapbox now. Carry on.

Somewhere Along The Way Someone Forgot

hy·poc·ri·sy (hĭ-pŏkrĭ-sē)

  1. The practice of professing beliefs, feelings, or virtues that one does not hold or possess; falseness.
  2. An act or instance of such falseness.

Yes and committing such an act makes you a hypocrite! I think some folks have forgotten what that is or maybe they live by the “do as I say, not as I do” philosophy? Not really sure. Either way, some of ya’ll should stop pointing fingers.

Merry Christmas..to me!

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

I got my Christmas present from my mom in the mail today! I’m so excited. I got a new digital camera and it is really cool. Uhm, only problem, I have NO clue how to use the darn thing. HOLY CRAPPERS! I mean, there are so many things this camera can do. I started reading the manual and I almost cried. Actually, I just thought, “What was I thinking? I’m not smart enough to operate some crazy equipment such as this!” I know I will figure it out in no time and I will show you some of the pics….once I figure out how to take them!! HAHA! j/k

Hope everyone is having a fabulous week. I am counting down the days until my semester is over!

The Countdown Has Begun

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

As of tomorrow, I only have 3, yes 3 more weeks of hell left. Did I say hell? I meant school. My bad. I am more than ready for a break at this point. I have another patho exam Thursday and it never fails, I have an awful headache! This will be our 4th exam and for every single one I have had a major brain ache while trying to study. Oh well, I have managed to pull an A on every exam. I think I was just bragging right there.

I am ready for Christmas!  I LOVE nothing more than to watch Monkey open his gifts and smile n’ all that jazz. I may also take a trip home to see the family. I miss them and haven’t seen them since the beginning of September. Then…and then… I am going to LONDON, ya’ll!! That is going to be the shiznit!!

Sorry, I will not bore you any longer with my mindless drivel.

And They Wonder Why There Are So Many Women With Eating Disorders

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

When this is seen as acceptable in any sort of way, it makes some people, whom already have a sickness, think they need to look this way to be beautiful. How absolutely disgusting, foul, etc. Seriously, feed these girls some cheeseburgers!!

I think the emaciated girl should be eating whatever that is!! This disgusts me to no end!

Some People Should Not Be Allowed In Public Places…EVER!!

Monday, November 26th, 2007

I am seriously cranky today because I am sick of being sick and want to be at home and not at school. It is Monday, I had to be here at 8, and now I have to listen to stupid people bitch about shit that really is not going to matter in a week. Oh and then there is the complete MORON who sits blabbering on and on. She has nothing to say and is keeping me from being able to study. Yeah, she keeps talking, asking questions about the exam (as if we know what will be on the test), and all I wanted to do was study today! UGH!!

These people should not come out in public until they learn how to behave. You know, like the naughty kid without manors or something. Yes, you know what I mean. The kid that runs all around the restaurant, screaming with parents who sit oblivious. Yup, these girls were those kids about 20 yrs ago.

Happy Monday!!

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and that the rest of your weekend was as good as mine!!

I have a pretty busy week ahead of me, as I’m sure you do too with the holidays coming up. Sorry if I’m sort of MIA the  next few weeks. The last few weeks of school get all kinds of crazy.

I Cannot Believe How Not Bad Black Friday Was!

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

Mike and I went shopping most of the day yesterday and it was not bad at all! There were plenty of people out and about, but not too awful. We parked far away to avoid parkingtastrophes and just had a good time. We both got almost all of our shopping done, got some good deals, and Mike got to experience World Market. I think he liked it? Anyway.

Did anyone else go out and brave what everyone says it total madness?
