Caught In The Rain

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

Since we have been having so much rain, my son and I have been stuck in the house WAY too much. Today, mid day, I decided we should take a trip to the lake. We got there around 3pm and it was gorgeous outside! The lake shore was a little messed up and eroded from the amount of rain we have had, but it was also pretty cool.

While my son played I read my book and relaxed by the lake. After he had enough of the water, he asked to walk out to the break wall, and so we did. We got all the way out there and it started to rain. We started walking back to the car and then it POURED!! We both took off our flippers and ran! It was so much fun. We should have just stayed and danced in the rain :D Of course on the way back to the car there was a HUGE crackle of thunder that scared the shit out of my son. It was sort of funny, but made me wanna run faster! It was a pretty cool ride home with all the lightening!!

I forgot to mention that we saw a snake while walking on the path to the lake! I screamed of course and my son thought it was cool. He said I scared him, but whatever!!  I think it was the snake that actually scared him :)

People can tell you a million times how beautiful, smart, independent, kind, etc. you are, but you will never BE those things until YOU believe those things are true.

Yup, gotsta find all that goodness inside yourself :D

Registration

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

Today is the day to register my son at school. Oh joy!! I love writing out all kinds of checks for PUBLIC school.

When I was in school, we didn’t pay for anything except our school supplies, field trips, and stuff for playing sports. We didn’t have to pay to play the sport, but buy shoes, etc. I just don’t get it. I chalk it up to the fact that schools are now pretty much poor.  Just odd to me that I have to spend a crap ton on school supplies AND give them $15 for material fees. Oh well, what can you do, right?

PS I am sick of forking over money for school related expenses, but it should all end in a few weeks……er something.
