These are hilarious!!!

A couple of weeks ago, while at the break wall, my son asked me to take him fishing out there some time. I agree. DOH, I do not know how to fish! I figure, how hard can it be, right?

We go to Wal-Mart and buy what we think we need (I have NO clue). We got two poles, a tackle box, and some lure type deals. Luckily my son’s pole came with a bunch of stuff because that shit ain’t cheap!! Get home, and my son is super excited to put together his tackle box and arrange things just so. It was cute to watch and it kept him busy for a few…hours. Even cuter, he opens it every day and looks at his fishing stuff and picks the coolest one. Yeah, neither of us know how to attach the shit to the line really or what we should be using to fish those bastards out the lake.

After thinking about this, I realized we need a license to fish! Whoops. Yeah, we will be getting those and I figure some worms on our way to the lake today. The ‘real’ fisherman fish for minnows and use those as bait, but I will not be handling a live fish. Sorry, I will barely be able to tolerate the live wormies.

Wish me luck!! I hope the fisherman on the break wall do not laugh too hard at us I am guessing we will not actually catch a fish, but we will for sure have some fun! If we catch a fish, he will be let go. I am not a fan of fish and I have no clue how to cook or clean them either.

What did I get myself into? Oh well, as long as my son has fun and does not realize I am a complete idiot, we will be just fine. I am always amazed at how far out of my comfort zone I will go for my child. I guess that is what being a single mom is all about. You have to ‘man up’ sometimes to get the job done!
