Foolish

I know we have all heard it, but I still like it.

Milwaukee Zoo

Yesterday my son, Sadie, her boyfriend, and myself went to the Milwaukee Zoo. I have not been to the zoo in probably two years. It was a really good time for all of us….I think. They had two special ‘displays’ this year, the stingray/shark exhibit and koala bears.

We entered the zoo after paying almost $50 for the four of us! Yeah, a bit outrageous for the parking, but I didn’t know well enough where I was to park outside the zoo. Anyway.

Once at the exhibit, you had to pay an extra $2 got get in and I was fine with that, it was the same the last time we went to pet the stingrays. There were plenty of people lined up along the tanks, but we managed to squeeze in to view and try to pet the sharks. Those little buggers swam just out of arms reach!! Of course you had the jack ass visitors who were practically diving into the water to touch the poor fish. UGH! And the adults who wouldn’t let the kids have a turn. Yeah, gotta love that. We did end up being able to pet both the sharks and the stingrays. They had several stingrays this year as opposed to last time when they only had like 4-5 of them.

We saw the giraffes and one was having a serious love affair with a tree? We weren’t sure what to make of it, but it was entertaining. We also saw the camels with some pretty sad humps. Their humps were all droopy and one camel was all by himself. Later we discovered that he was laying in his poop and had really bad teeth. I dare say that is why the others left him on his own.

The koala exhibit was less than stellar, but they sure are cute. They had one outside, asleep in the tree and one inside mowing down on eucalyptus leaves. They were super cute.

My son was the ‘photographer’ for part of the day, so we have some great shots of the back of several animals :).
