Redemption…..sort of
Saturday, June 23rd, 2007As you all have read, I got my car back yesterday. Great, right? Well……sort of. I got to the body shop, saw my car and she looked beautiful!! I was SO happy to see her again; all fixed up and lookin’ pretty. Took care of all the business stuff I needed to; paid my deductible, etc.
After getting squared away with the body shop, I get into my car. I’ll be damned; my radio does not work!! There is an error message and I have NO clue what do do. It is asking me for a code so I start pushing buttons. I finally decide to go in and ask the guy what is up. He says it is like that because they had to disconnect the battery and that I just have to enter the code. That would be fine…..if I knew the code!! I, however, do not. Instantly I am PISSED! I feel my blood start to boil and I just want to punch the guy in his fucking face!! Why wasn’t this fixed before I came to get my car? UGH!! He says he can call the dealership where I bought my car or he can go ask one of the other guys inside if they know what to do. He came back, after talking to some asshat, and tells me that I need to take my car to a Honda dealership where they will use a wand to fix it. WHAT? There is some sort of fucking magic wand that his going to make my radio work? Why didn’t he just say that? My son has a magic kit at home. IDIOT!! There is no fucking wand that will fix my radio. Yup, let these people work on my car.
All I can think is, “How can I drive my car without a radio?” You have to understand how addicted I am to my iPod. I cannot drive anywhere without it! I take a two block trip and I bring it along. Yes, I am that addicted. Tis my singing crack pipe. How can I live without it? I simply cannot! And, left alone with my thoughts, I go a little crazy. What can I say, I’m a thinker. Must have music to distract the crazies in my head. Ya know?
I drove away and decided to call the dealership that I purchased my car from myself. The guy there was helpful and told me what I needed to do to fix the problem. Got home and tried to enter the code (which I found in my glove box). Apparently you only get 10 tries and you are locked out. Yup, I tried ALL that was left of those tries and nothing. Had to call the Honda dealership and he said I would have do disconnect the battery again for 5min, re-connect, and then enter the code. Great!!
Right after that phone call ended, the guy from the body shop called. He had called a Honda dealer and found out what I needed to do. I tell him I too had called and now I needed the battery disconnected, etc. He offered to send someone out. I’m happy to say someone came to save my day or radio!! Yeah! In my mind this place was totally redeemed. Of course, then I noticed a little spot on my trunk where the top coat looks like it might start to peel away. I know for a fact that my car was not like that when I took it in. My guess? They got carried away in the polishing process. Now I have to call said dealership on Monday and see when they can repaint that
To be continued………….
