Poor kitty

Now that summer is officially here(almost), I have plenty of time on my hands. I want to stay in some sort of shape this summer because I know it will go downhill in the fall when I start school FT again. I’m trying to avoid the, jello smuggler look, ya know? So to help stay in shape, I recently started riding my bike in the mornings. My usual journey is roughly 6 mi. round trip on the Wild Goose Trail. Now, I have no clue how far this trail goes in the north direction, but south from my house, it is about 3 mi. until the trail comes to an end. Riding on the trail is very relaxing as it offers a tranquil setting. I hop on the trail at the water treatment plant, just past Sensient. I’m guessing you all know what water treatment might smell like and Sensient….that is a whole nother ball of wax. I cannot accurately describe the foul odors that waft through the air, via Sensient Flavors. I have been told they make some sort of yeast type products, but again, not a clue what anyone would eat or drink that smells like that. This place reeks up the entire town of Juneau. Granted, Juneau has a population of maybe 3000, but it is a nasty smell none the less.

While riding along the Goose trail I usually see thing such as: chipmunks, bunnies, frogs, of course all kinds of bugs, the occasional human with dog in tow, and of course the lovely piles of horse poo sprinkled along the way. Gotta love that!! However, today held something new and not so exciting for me. As I’m peddling away, sweating my ASS off, I saw out of the corner of my eye an animal of sorts lying on the side of the path. Much to my dismay it was a dead cat. Poor thing met its demise on the Wild Goose Trail :( Of course, I am not 100% sure it died there because it looked almost laid out in the spot it was resting. I was a little freaked out because it was just eerie to see a dead cat on the trail. Yes, it freaked me out even worse on my way back as the flies had REALLY begun to collect on the carcass. Not a fun sight at 8am or any other time I imagine. I don’t believe that anyone ‘patrols’ the trail so I may be riding in the other direction for the remainder of the summer as I do not want to see or smell the decomposing feline. SICK!

For Cryin’ Out Loud!!

I have a few jobs, PT at the bank, FT student, and the best one, I’m the manager of my apartment building. I know, sounds like loads of fun, right? I just had one of the ‘older’ tenants call to tell me that the dryer hose downstairs is not connected to the vent leading outside. Then she says, “Well, I’m using it right now, but it isn’t connected to the thing.” Uhh? Do you think you should be using it then or maybe you should have called BEFORE running the damn thing? She proceeds to tell me, “It’s making a funny noise?” Hmm? Do you think maybe because all of the phucking hot air is blowing straight into the laundry room? Gosh, here is a thought, HOOK THE DAMN HOSE BACK UP TO THE WALL YOURSELF!! I mean, how hard is it really? Mind you, this is the same lady that calls me about every two weeks to tell me her outside light is burnt out. For cryin’ out loud, lady! You do not have to be a handy man/woman to figure this shit out!
