I must confess, I am a huge nerd. Of course, most of you know this already. I graduate in May. Thank you, Jesus. I don’t think I could handle another semester at this point. Now that I have an idea of what it is like to work as a nurse, school is not as much fun. I learn 100 times more on the job than I ever could in a classroom setting. I digress.
I graduate in May and then I have to take one final exam….the NCLEX. Yup, one more freakin’ huge test that will allow me get a license or not. For Christmas I asked for a study guide book thing and just tonight, I purchased 300 medication flashcards so that I am prepared for this test that is at least 6 months away. Gosh, I sure hope I’m prepared for this exam!!
Yes, I truly am a huge nerd.

I am officially on Christmas, or as those who are PC would call it, Holiday break until January 26th. Joy!! I will be working during this time off, but not worrying about any school work, stupid paper to write, or test coming up…..that just makes me happy.
Now for the real reason I am writing this mini post. I went to Target today to pick up some long sleeved t-shirts to wear under my scrub tops. Great, they had a small assortment, but I got what I needed. While in the store, I was overcome with the feeling of rage. Yes, rage. It made me realize why I will never birth another child and why I could never be a teacher of the beasts. My GOD!! There was a smallish child, approximately 4 years of age who kept shouting, “Dog hat” over and over again. For what reason, your guess is as good as mine. I just know I wanted to strangle her. Whomever she was with paid no mind to the fact that she was yelling those words over and over and over again.
Honestly, people! You may love that little monster in the cart, but I can guarantee that 99.9% of the people in the store were not impressed with her annoying behavior.
I could blog for days about asshole driving, but I will not. I will just say, it is -1 degrees warm here and we are expecting another shit ton of snow in the next few days. Joyous I tell you, simply joyous.
I am moving to FL next year!!

I get a daily recipe from allrecipes.com. Great idea, right? They send some ideas that look rather appetizing. Today…not so much. This is a photo of the ‘dinner’ I’m supposed to make.

YUMMY!!!
That tasty dish is loving called, Dad’s Down Home Cornbread and Jalapeno Meatloaf. Not sure that is ‘down home’ really. Kind of looks like something Scooby brought back up after he snarfed down dinner a little too fast.

I spent a weekend with this guy over the summer (yes, Mike knows and was there with me) and was delighted to find out that he is now going to great lengths to support a cause close to his heart. Read more here. Donate, I will!!
And, it just so happens that I recently (less than an hour ago) finished writing a ridiculously long paper about type 2 diabetes.
This concludes my monthly post on ItsJustTracy.com!!

This morning I took Monkey to McDonald’s for breakfast. I thought we would go in but he preferred the drive thru because his hair wasn’t dry. Yeah, you have to know him and his hair situation to understand that one. Anyway.
We get to the window to pick up our food and he says, “Speed. You have to have speed to work here at McDonald’s. Not a lot of intellect, but you have to have speed.”
Uhm? I was pretty much speechless at that point.

I was birthday shopping today and saw this in the mall:

I guess I have nothing to say. Putting a huge Proactive dispenser in a mall says all there is to say. I guess, to each their own!

Tagged as: concerts, Counting Crows.
Yeah, that’s what I was left wondering last night.
Sadie, Monkey, and I went to a concert last night to see Maroon 5 and Counting Crows. Don’t laugh, Maroon 5 is pretty cool and Counting Crows had their day as well. Anyway.
Maroon 5 put on a good show, played songs that everyone knew etc. Counting Crows came on and started with new stuff. I get it, they are promoting a new album or whatever. Fine. They did play some oldies that I knew and one newish one that is on the radio once in a while.
What song does everyone know the Counting Crows for? Well, let me tell you…Mr. Jones. Guess what song they did not play? You guessed it, Mr. Jones. WTF? I get that bands don’t want to only be known for that one hit they had or whatever, but Sadie and I wanted to hear that one most of all!
Needless to say, we left disappointed along with several other fans. Those who left after Maroon 5 were much smarter than we were. If we only knew.
Two thumbs way down for the Counting Crows.

I’m sure you have all heard of the band Bush. If not, you must have lived under a rock or not been born in the mid 90’s. Anyway. The lead singer was, Gavin Rossdale. Bush had a few albums and they were quite popular about 10+ years ago. Haven’t heard much from them since. I digress.
Gavin Rossdale married Gwen Stefani a few years back, they have babies now, blah blah. Recently Gavin decided to embark on a solo career. Good for him, right? There was a lot of talk on radio stations etc. What I kept/keep hearing is Love Remains the Same” by Gwen Stefani’s husband, Gavin Rossdale. It makes me so angry! When did he suddenly lose his fame and have to fly on his wife’s coattails?
In fact, I head two Milwaukee radio peeps talking about how upset he got when people brought up him being married to Gwen when they were interviewing him to talk about his new album. Gee, I wonder why. Maybe because all you assholes introduce him as Gwen Stefani’s husband? I dunno, not sure why it makes me so angry but I would be pissed if I had lost my identity and was just someone’s wife. WTF? The man was famous before or around the same time as his wife. It is not like she made him famous or something. Why can’t they say, “Here is (insert song title) by Gavin Rossdale, former lead singer of Bush.” I guess that would make more sense to someone like myself.
The song is pretty good, btw. I enjoy it. And now you can take a moment and enjoy a picture of the handsome Gavin Rossdale.
